Word Cloud

Published in the Anthology Wollondilly Ink brought out by Wollondilly Branch of the Fellowship of Australian Writers in 2012

Trapped in a cloud
My hand moves
towards a floating word
as it fades into the fog

I reach out in frustration
missing an idea hovering past me

Disappearing into the thickness

Punctuation enveloped by the whiteness

I try to grab a half written sentence
stumbling I hit the ground

Deciding to let go of writing a poem

Although finding a way out
from this mist will be the hard part
