The Rude Awakening
Eyes wide open
Cringing feeling in my stomach
Head dips down
Tears start to form
All emotions rush to the face
Arrogance was just revealed
in front of a crowd
Unrealistic points of view of life
broken on mass demonstration
Queasiness begins from the feet
Slowly evolving into pulsing prickles
Move up the body
As arms fold around the stomach
Breathing slowly but deeply
Shaking at thoughts
based on assumptions
Embarrassment quickly takes over
Starring blankly at the floor
All emotions sucked away
Eyes close as he thinks
“What to do now?”
The only thing that comes out of the mouth is
“Thanks for the rude awakening.”
